I remember there being a whole lot more trees here than I saw today. Perhaps the storm that went by here a few years ago felled many trees? During our visit we saw many county employees, a Constable and 3 border patrol vehicles, so don't even worry about Mexicans trying to cross the Rio Grande River here! The grounds are well kept but the paving needs a bit of attention in certain areas. Overall it's a good little park, but it used to be even better.
Great place to BBQ. We have our annual Fajita Cook-off there. Everyone loves it. Wish it would be open at least until 6 or 7PM.
The website says open from 8am to 7 pm we went, got there at 5:20 gate closed and locked. Please update because there were other cars there for nothing.
Dry and arid riverside county park inhabited by more border patrol vehicles than wildlife or families. This park is the skeletal remains of a immigration policy gone wild. Used to be a verdant and vibrant park 20 years ago where boy scouts, boating, and barbecues abounded.
Great birding site! Got my best picture of a Vermilion Flycatcher yet there. It's right at the border but there are Border Guards everywhere, so we felt safe. Very well-kept grounss.
