There's also a resaca (oxbow) where people go fishing too for alligator gar. Since its a state park you don't need a fishing license. The fishing spots are not super comfy. We saw some with kayaks for fishing.
Park changes almost every day. More beautiful every time!
It's the Valley, not the hill country, what can I say? I wish they'd remember my name there, since I'm there so often, but no one seems to care. The facilities are well kept and maintained, the park is also well cared for, but it takes a long time to clear away brush after a storm has passed, sometimes as long as 9 months! Still, this is a good place to "hike," bike, and bird watch, well worth the annual membership for Texas state parks.
I like doing some of the trails, they're short distance maybe 1-2 miles. Nice to just be outdoors! It does get hot, pack you water to stay hydrated. :)
Lots of trails to go through. A stunning place as far as local ecosystems go. You can bike, walk, run or even ride the tram while you're there.
Great for biking, nature walking, birding. Very relaxing place
